about
London based artist with a Turkish heritage, Serel has been forced by life to delve deep into the hidden corners of her mind.
After the premature loss of her father, at 17 Serel moved to Istanbul in search of belonging and artistic direction: an acting role in a television series brought public interest but it also further stretched her fragilities.
To reconnect with her true creative freedom, Serel left everything behind and moved to London.
During her healing journey, made of self-discovery and introspection, she developed her song writing, finding beauty in extreme darkness:
"My Inner Psycho" is a raw journey through her survival coping mechanisms and fabricated perceptions.
Serel digs up the voices of self-sabotage and artificial behaviour inhabiting anyone’s subconscious.
Her dramatic sound and intense lyrics break the silence induced by our fears.
“My Inner Psycho” is released March 12th 2021 on independent label Eywa Music Ltd across all streaming platforms. It was recorded in London, produced by Adam Rust, written by Serel, Jimmy Kent and Adam Rust.
lyrics
My inner psycho, I feel you at the back of my mind
Any second you might blow, make me laugh when everyone's crying
I sabotage myself all of the time so you can come and save me from the fire
My inner psycho, you're everywhere I go
There's nowhere to run from you, you're always lingering in my head
These eyes that you see through will not be open till I'm dead
There's just no escape from your gravity
In the rubble and dust, you take over us, and it becomes insanity
It's tough love and soft hate we feel
My inner psycho, I feel you at the back of my mind
Any second you might blow, make me laugh when everyone's crying
I sabotage myself all of the time so you can come and save me from the fire
My inner psycho, you're everywhere I go
I overdosed on you in the silence of my fears
I change my point of view and your violence is so clear
All the trauma that you took instead of me
What a fucking disgrace, but it taught us how to face our common enemy
I need you to be my extreme
I sabotage myself all of the time so you can come and save me
I see you in the flames, the higher they climb, the more world gets hazy
And the more that I defend myself from their lies, the more the world resents me
And the more that I reflect the freak that they hide, the more that you respect me
You're everywhere I go, I feel you at the back of my mind
Any second you might blow, make me laugh when everyone's crying
I sabotage myself all of the time so you can come and save me from the fire
My inner psycho, you're everywhere I go
